Siobhan Goss from the Matrix SCM Social Value team spent the morning at La Sainte Union Catholic Secondary School, helping the Year 9’s with their ‘Career Carousel’.

A career carousel gives students the opportunity to meet interesting professionals from different career paths. Carousels normally involve professionals from multiple sectors, in this case, the students had the opportunity to speak to people from different industries including; Police, Charity, Acting, Publishing, Healthcare, Technology, Law, and Producing. Notably, the producers were from the popular TV Show ‘The Chase’.

The event is broken into time slots and students can pick which professionals they want to sit with for each time slot, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the different paths that are open to them.

On the day Siobhan was representing Woman in Technology and Recruitment, answering questions students had about the sector. She was given this opportunity as part of her continued work with STEAM and Camden Council, where she is creating Social Value and driving Community Engagement with partners for Matrix SCM.

‘It was a great way for students to learn about the many different career paths available to them. It was lovely to see the young people so engaged and enthusiastic!’
