The Public Services People Managers Association (PPMA) is the first-choice association for people professionals in public services. Every year they host their Annual Conference that celebrates the outstanding achievements of individuals teams and partnerships from across the public sector.

PPMA Award Winners

We were proud sponsors of Public Service HR/OD Team of the Year which this year had two great councils nominated. Somerset County Council, who’s HR programmes have led directly to cost being removed from the council, as well as one of our clients North Yorkshire County Council for creating a partnership with neighbouring authorities to work in unison continue to meet the needs of the city’s schools. Chris Grimes was on stage with Shonette, who as always was on great form, to award Somerset with the win.

Throughout the evening it was fantastic to catch up with Councils from across the UK including some of our clients and seeing them being put forward for awards. From everyone at Matrix SCM we want to congratulate all the winners throughout the evening.

Positive Points of Recruitment Processes

Throughout the event you may recall we were conducting some research, keeping with the theme of the conference during the day we were discussing organisations Positive Points that they experience in their recruitment processes (during the night you may have spotted us wearing Fez’s).

As part of our research we ran a draw where Julie from Osbourne Thomas randomly selected a winner who happened to be none other than Mykela from Thurrock Council:
