Yesterday our Business Director Julian Panter hosted our quarterly London Forum / Focus Group in Lambeth. The day consists of discussing topical themes and sharing best practice, with attendees from our clients across London including; Barnet, Enfield, Lambeth, Greenwich, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Camden and Westminster.

What topical themes were discussed?

Our goal from these forums is for leaders to share best practise and to support each other towards their common goals. During the session a range of topical themes were discussed including:

Reducing spend in current conditions:

In the current climate spend is increasing, so we had discussions about how the councils can combat this. With conversations developing around creating flexible workforces and the impact of Fixed Term Contracts and Permanent employees on this.

Children Social Workers:

Linked to reducing spend, the conversations here investigated capping day rates as a community to stop driving costs up.

Market Analysis from Julian Panter:

With all temporary roles across the councils being released through our market-leading Matrix CR system, Julian called upon data to analyse and make decisions on the everchanging contingency resourcing landscape.

Guidance around IR35:

All the councils are experiencing similar difficulties around this, so here everyone talked about how they were overcoming and supporting each other.

New BI Tool and Timesheet Mobile App:

Building on from the Market Analysis, Julian also introduced one of our latest developments our Mobile Timesheet App that allows Matrix CR users to easily submit, manage, track and approve timesheets. On top of that, he talked about future developments like our new Business Intelligence tool to help drive future analysis.
