Matrix SCM recently attended The Local Government Staff Commission for Northern Ireland conference on the 22nd and 23rd of November. The theme across the two days was Transforming Human Resources, with our Sales Director Chris Grimes and the PPMA President Karen Grave helping attendees understand the effects of ‘Brexit Challenges’ on HR from our recent Brexit Hackathon event.
Brexit Hackathon, Presentation and Research:
Our presentation on the day talked about the Hackathon we ran with the PPMA and LGSC earlier in the year. Where we created a high pressure and high-intensity ideas session, aiming to produce action learning to help us collectively deliver tangible recommendations that tackle workforce related Brexit Challenges.
The presentation was a nice overview of the results, at the event we set out 6 actions that as a group to help overcome Brexit Challenges in Northern Ireland. To learn what the 6 outcomes are and to see how they will be implemented check out the research report here: https://view.publitas.com/matrix-scm/matrix-scm-ppma-brexit-hackathon-brochure/
Inspirational Speakers:
Throughout the conference there were some fantastic speakers, Andrew Collins from Neyber spoke about the importance of Improving Health and Wellbeing. Looking at the importance of companies trying to identify underlying issues of financial struggles.
The CEO and Founder of the Karma Nirvana charity, Jasvinder Sanghera delivered an amazing speech about how to help safeguard people from forced marriages. Highlighting signs to look out for at work for someone that may be a victim.
With other notable talks from exhibitors including KNOT that gives massages for internal staff to reduce stress and absentees whilst boosting staff morale. As well as NIUSE who support promoting jobs and helping companies to employ people with disabilities.
Thank you!
Overall the conference was a great experience, it was fantastic to catch up with clients and attendees across the two days. We hope the research we have been doing is helpful and we look forward to sharing with you our follow up work in April 2019.
