Yesterday we had a great time at the East of England Heads of HR Meeting, which was run by Anastasia the PPMA Chair for the South East.
Taking part in the afternoon session, we helped give insight into how leading HR organisations are Deploying Digital for better Recruitment Outcomes. Our session involved us understanding what problems Authorities in the region are experiencing and exploring what Councils are doing to overcome them.
Identifying Pain Points in Recruitment Processes across the South East:
Before the event, we worked with Anastasia to identify what Pain Points organisations across the region were experiencing in their Recruitment Processes. We can confirm the results are in and these are the largest problems that attendees were experiencing:

How are London Authorities and Thurrock Council overcoming these issues?
During the session, we had insight from our Business Director for the South and London Julian Panter, and the Strategic Lead at Thurrock Council Mykela Pratt, into what leading authorities are doing to overcome these issues.
Covering a number of issues, we identified with Anastasia, we have taken some notes from both Julian and Mykela’s talks to help understand how Authorities are overcoming these issues:
80% Talent Shortages:
We find a lot of the time talent shortages are linked to recruitment models, at Matrix SCM our fulfilment rates through Neutral Vendor Managed Services are 99.6%. We achieve this by deploying roles digitally to our supply chain of recruitment agencies, giving you full visibility on the process and access to supply chains of agencies that are built for each client and job category.
40% Lack of market knowledge (pay rate/data):
Technology is great here, using a system like CR.NET allows you to quickly pull reports on pay rates and understand exactly what your organisations spend is. On top of that, we also combine this with benchmarking exercises that we can run with oversupply chain of 2,500 agencies. Allowing you to see a great snapshot of what pay rates are regionally by job category/title in a specific area.
30% Lack of visibility and real-time management information overspend:
The easiest way to create full visibility is to utilise a system like CR.NET that manages the full end-to-end procurement process, as it means you can have full visibility of spend dive into MI data to see where you are spending and who it is with.
Overview and next steps:
We had a fantastic time on the day, and it was great to dive into data in the South East and try to support organisations to overcome the problems they are facing. Last year we did a research document off the back of these workshops, so if you want to read more please feel free to check out our Deploying Digital Research document here.
