Matrix SCM are proud to announce that we are partnering with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to provide Neutral Vendor Managed Services for Temporary Staffing. Following the successful award of the tender, we have been implementing the contract which went live in April 2020.
During challenging and busy times at the Council with the Covid-19 lockdown, we managed to quickly catch-up with Simon Neves through email to understand how the implementation went and what they are looking to gain from the contract.
Before going out to Tender, Rotherham had two single vendor contracts set-up for the main job categories they hired for, one for General Maintenance and the other for Care. However, the recruitment agencies delivering these contracts weren’t always being used and so there was off contract spend, creating a lack of visibility and control. This led Rotherham to run a tender process to find the best organisation to help them to manage their staffing:
“We decided to go ahead with Matrix SCM as there were the outstanding choice following the tender process.” Simon Neves, Recruitment and Resourcing Manager
Matrix SCM’s Neutral Vendor Managed Service model brings spend onto one visible contract and system, helping Rotherham to take control of their spend and to drive down costs. On top of that it empowers hiring and service managers, who after training on the new process can quickly and efficiently hire through our technology and supply chain.
Going live in April 2020 meant that part of Rotherham Councils’ implementation was during the Covid-19 lockdown. Our implementation process is built to limit the impact on the business during the transition, so that they can continue to work business as usual before moving to the new contract.
“I’m very glad we did decide to go with Matrix, as their implementation process has been extremely impressive. It’s been well organised, and the project manager Jack has been fantastic, patient, organised and courteous throughout the process. I’m particularly impressed with their ability to build business relationships and I view Implementation as vital colleagues and friends, rather than a supplier of services.” Simon Neves, Recruitment and Resourcing Manager
Having smoothly implemented Matrix SCM during challenging times, the next step of the contract is to start processing roles through our system so that Rotherham can start to have full visibility, take control of their recruitment and start driving down costs through the contract.
“The next focus on the contract is getting our hiring managers to use the system with support from our client liaison manager. Then we’re keen to see the fruits of our labour in terms of better candidates, a wider choice of candidates and significant cost savings.”
