The Company

Matrix SCM is a services procurement business.  We are currently responsible for managing an annualised spend on services exceeding £600m on behalf of 100 organisations throughout the UK. Our customers include Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Police Forces, Schools and Universities. Our solutions provide customers with the flexibility to either outsource full responsibility for managing the end to end services procurement process to Matrix SCM (primary contractor solution), or alternatively part outsource the end to end process (dynamic purchasing system) in order to enable them to retain certain processes in-house.

Matrix SCM’s Neutral Vendor Managed Service solution has been implemented by 100 public sector organisations across the UK in order to reduce their overall spend on engaging temporary agency staff, interims and consultants. Our solution has delivered these organisations significant cost savings and process efficiencies and firmly established Matrix SCM as the leading provider of contingent resourcing solutions within the public sector.

 

The Opportunity

Following significant investment into the business an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our sales team. As Business Development Manager you will be fully responsible for selling Matrix SCM’s Neutral Vendor Managed Service solution to the private sector, with particular focus on managing client’s temporary staffing, interim and consultancy spend.  If you are seeking a “hands on” sales role, then this represents the perfect opportunity for you as you will be directly responsible for helping develop Matrix SCM’s presence within the private sector

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Establishing and developing a contingent resourcing new business pipeline
  • Lead generation
  • Undertaking all sales presentations to prospective new clients
  • Recording all sales activities within our CRM (Hubspot)
  • Reporting on sales performance against target
  • Bid/proposal writing
  • Upselling to existing Matrix SCM clients
  • Ensuring Matrix SCM’s contingent resourcing solutions remain innovative in relation to client requirements
  • Undertaking market research and trend analysis
  • Attending conferences and exhibitions

 

Person Specification

Education: Minimum 2:1 Degree Qualified

Relevant Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least 5 years private sector sales experience, preferably to Procurement & HR professionals
  • Demonstrable track record within the Construction Sector is highly desirable
  • Previous experience of selling MSP, Neutral Vendor or RPO solutions
  • Good understanding of the temporary staffing, interim and consultancy marketplace
  • Proven track record in sales
