As part of our work with Enfield Careers Service, we usually work with them on GCSE and A-Level Results days to help school leavers figure out their next steps. This year, as we could not meet with the young people face-to-face, we have been running online workshops to help students take their next steps in their careers.
We have been running free workshops for young people in communities of our clients. We ran Online Employability Workshops for 16-18-year-old residents who are looking for apprenticeships, volunteer work or part-time employment. We helped them with a series of subjects such as ‘Updating your CV for Online Job Searching’ where we tackled searching for roles, explored how to use job boards effectively and explained how they can keep their CV up-to-date online. On top of that, we also helped with ‘Successful Online & Telephone Interviews’ where we engaged in discussions around different types of interviews as well as tips for successful online and telephone interviews with example questions and model answers.
Our Social Value team work to drive community engagement with clients and local partners. Calling upon our experience as a Managed Service Provider of temporary staff, our team can give insight into employability and call upon our supply chain of recruitment agencies for insights directly from recruiters. With the current climate, a lot of workshops have moved online which has proven very appropriate with sessions such as these Employability Workshops being the first time most of the participants had used Microsoft Teams.
We were sad not to meet the young people face-to-face this year but are pleased that we were still able to provide some support and help where we can. We wish all the young people the best of luck with their next steps!
