We are excited to announce that Basildon Council have extended their Neutral Vendor Managed Service contract for temporary staffing with Matrix SCM. We look forward to continuing to support Basildon Council by helping them to make additional savings and drive social value through the contract.
As part of all of our contracts, our clients are provided with a Business Manager who will help them ensure they get the best value from the contract. Looking back to the last Quarterly Business Review with Basildon Council, we saw some great impact from activities we had set-up, including a Digital Strategy. We created this with the Council to ensure hiring managers were loading orders through the system, which saw order numbers increase by 17% from 78% to 95%. This, alongside other initiatives, helped us to drive down Basildon Council’s quarterly total agency spend by 6.4%, whilst also helping to drive compliance and efficient processes through the Council.
At Basildon Council, there is a focus to utilise local agencies by providing local workers to support their local community. These agencies are helping support Basildon Council’s temporary workers by offering support with activities such as financial planning. During the writing of this case study, Basildon Council followed government guidance to help combat Covid-19, so these initiatives extended to support agency workers with other challenges they were facing, such as self-isolation.
Matrix SCM have been supporting Basildon Council’s drive to use local workers and agencies through the contract. One way we are going to be supporting Basildon is by utilising our Social Value team to drive community engagement with clients and local partners. This involves us looking at an organisation’s priorities and providing activities to support those needs.
